Amend, cancel or replace a permit

With your virtual permit, you can make changes to both your address and to your vehicle. 

Change of vehicle

You can change the vehicle on your permit. To do this follow the steps below:

  • log into your account
  • add your new vehicle by clicking on the ‘+’ icon in the section 2 ‘Manage your vehicle details’.
  • add your new vehicle evidence by clicking on the ‘+’ icon in the section 3 ‘Manage your document uploads’.
  • go to section 1 ‘Apply and Manage your permits’ and click on the permit you want to edit.
  • in the vehicle section, select your new vehicle registration number from the drop down menu.
  • click save.

Temporary changes

If you are using a courtesy car or other temporary vehicle in place of the one for which you hold a permit, then you should update your virtual permit to reflect this. To do this follow the steps below:

  • log into your account
  • in section 2 ‘‘Manage your vehicle details’ click on the vehicle you want to update
  • click on ‘switch to a temporary vehicle’
  • enter the temporary vehicle registration number.
  • click Save.

The temporary vehicle will be valid on your permit until it is removed. To remove it, you can go back into the vehicle details and click ‘remove’ in the temporary vehicle section.

Please note that:

  • your original vehicle will not be covered by your permit whilst the temporary vehicle is in place.

Change of address

You can update your address yourself by following these steps:

If you are moving within the same zone:

  • your permit evidence will need to be update first
  • In section 3 ‘Manage your document uploads’, click on the proof that requires updating
  • click on ‘Replace Proof’, select your new proof and then click save
  • to update your address, go to section 1 ‘Apply and Manage your permits’ and click on the permit you want to update
  • update your address details and then click save
  • your permit will require approval by the council. The outcome of the address change will be sent via email and the permit status updated accordingly.

If you are moving to a different zone:

  • update your permit evidence first
  • in section 3 ‘Manage your document uploads’, click on the proof that requires updating
  • click on ‘Replace Proof’, select your new proof and then click save
  • go to section 1 ‘apply and manage your permits’ and click on the permit you want to update
  • update your address details and then click save
  • if the address is outside of the zone, then the system will advise you and the permit will be cancelled. Any applicable refunds will be displayed on the screen
  • create a new permit but clicking on the ‘+’ icon section 1 ‘apply and manage your permits’.

Cancel your permit and claim a refund

If you no longer require your permit and it has three months or more remaining, you can claim a refund. To do this follow these steps:

  • log into your account
  • go to section 1 ‘Apply and Manage your permits’ and click on the permit you want to cancel.
  • click on ‘cancel permit’ (located on the bottom of the screen)
  • any applicable refunds will be displayed before you commit to cancel
  • click ‘ok’ to proceed.

 

Refunds for Visitor vouchers

Refunds are available to customers who are relocating and moving away from the permit zone.

To request a refund you must have a minimum of 10 unused visitor sessions remaining on your account. You will need to email your request to [email protected]  stating one of your permit unique reference numbers and the reason for your request. Our permit team will process your request and keep you updated.

Funds will be returned to the card that was used to make payment. If this is not possible then a refund will be sent out by cheque
