Kingston Council has removed and placed into secure storage a narrowboat that had been moored unlawfully to Council land on Queens Promenade since late May.... The river plays an important role in defining the distinctive character of the Royal Borough of Kingston and boats that overstay on moorings or occupy areas where mooring is not permitted, affect enjoyment of river users and those who wish to use the riverside.

    RB Kingston and LB Sutton have been working together to produce a new recycling and waste planning document, which provides guidance on the waste storage and collection requirements that should be considered for residential developments in Sutton and Kingston.... The latest version takes into account both comments and feedback from colleagues in Planning and Highways, and recent changes to Kingston's waste and recycling policies, in particular the introduction of charging for domestic containers, and that the Council will endeavour to provide residents living in flats/ properties of five units and above with the same recycling and waste collection service provision as those living in individual dwellings and therefore developers should provide the necessary different types of bins to accommodate these requirements.

    Patricia Bamford, who served as a councillor for 22 years, was made an Honorary Alderman of the Royal Borough of Kingston at the Full Council meeting on 12 October 2021.... To mark the occasion, Tricia was presented with a certificate by Mayor of Kingston Councillor Sushila Abraham in a short ceremony at the Guildhall at the start of the meeting....
