Customer Contact Centre

The Guildhall 2 reception remains closed to visitors - please do not visit as we will not be able to help you face to face.

Kingston Stronger Together COVID-19 Community Response Hub

Over the festive period, Kingston Stronger Together will continue to support residents who are isolating and don't have friends, family or trusted people available locally to call upon.

The hub offers a wide-range of support including:

  • Providing information and advice on staying healthy at home
  • Helping residents access food, medicine and other essential items
  • Befriending and mental health support
  • Providing advice on winter fuel payments
  • Providing referrals to professional services

Housing Repairs Emergencies  (Kingston council tenants only)

Call 020 8547 5003. Available 24 hours a day over the Christmas & New Year period as normal.

Homelessness

If you are without anywhere to stay overnight, please call 020 8770 5000 our team will assess your situation to determine if you can be provided with emergency accommodation until the next working day.

Rough sleeping

If you are concerned about a person rough sleeping you can report this via the StreetLink website or call 0300 500 0914.

Sexual health and emergency contraception

For NHS sexual health services, including emergency contraception, contraception and STI testing, see your GP surgery or specific service websites for opening times, and please call them before attending.

The Wolverton Centre at Kingston Hospital (0208 974 9331) and Your Healthcare Contraception & Sexual Health at Hollyfield House, Surbiton (0208 339 4783), are open as normal for booked appointments with the exception of:

Young people (under 25) can also get emergency contraception and condoms, confidentially and free of charge, from some local pharmacies (full list on www.gettingiton.org.uk)  including:Ace Pharmacy at Hook Parade, Chessington (closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) and Boots Pharmacy in the Bentalls Centre (closed Christmas Day).

Free postal STI testing is available for those aged 16+ from the e-service Sexual Health London, and at: www.freetest.me for 16-25 years olds, though bank holiday closures will result in some delay in mailing and processing test kits at laboratories.

Domestic or sexual violence

The One Stop Shop which normally takes place on Mondays will be closed until further notice. The WINGS empowerment groups are also closed until further notice.

To report a crime and other concerns

Call 101, the police non-emergency number, to report theft, criminal damage, drug use or dealing in your neighbourhood.

You should always call 999 when it is an emergency, such as when a crime is in progress, someone suspected of a crime is nearby, when there is danger to life or when violence is being used or threatened.

Villiers Road Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC)

Waste and recycling collections

Please see the 2020 waste and recycling collection date changes to see any changes for the Christmas period.

We will collect and compost your discarded real Christmas trees. Just leave them at the boundary of your property on the same day as your wheelie bins between 18-29 January 2021.

Registrar details

Appointments are available between  9am - 4pm Monday to Friday with the exception of the following;

  • Christmas Day - Closed
  • Boxing Day - Emergency burial certificates only
  • Monday 28 December - Emergency burial certificates only
  • New Year's Day - Emergency burial certificates only

If for religious reasons a burial must take place within 24 hours after death, heads of faith can contact a registrar on 020 8547 5000, between the hours of 9am-11am. Please note, this service is not available on Christmas Day.

Kingston Bereavement Services

The cemetery is open daily, 9am-4pm (from 10am on Bank Holidays and weekends).

There will be no burials or cremations on the following dates:

  • Christmas Day (Friday 25 December)
  • Boxing Day (Monday 28 December)
  • New Year's Day (Friday 1 January)

Our libraries are closed to the public for browsing, but we are running our ‘Ready Reads: we select you, collect’ service and providing limited essential PC Access only at Hook, Kingston, New Malden, Surbiton and Tudor Drive Libraries.
