Self Harm

If your child is self-harming, or you’re concerned they might be, it can be incredibly worrying. The important thing to remember is that lots of young people go through this and come out the other side with different ways of coping. You also need to remember that you’re not alone.

The Portus website was created to provide help and advice to people who are self harming and those who support them. For guidance on Self-harm and Suicide Prevention go to the Portus website

Schools

It is aimed at all staff working in schools, including those in admin, support and teaching roles. The content was developed by researchers, school staff and young people. This website includes training and information to help school staff recognise and respond to young people who self-harm.
