English and Maths (Functional Skills)
What’s on offer?
Our English and maths courses can help you develop practical everyday skills needed to live, study and work.
You may have been away from education for a while, be keen to brush up your skills for work or higher education or simply to gain more confidence.
Courses start at Entry level and progress to Level 2.
Classes are term-time only and are held at the King Charles Centre, Surbiton. There are morning, afternoon and evening classes.
You will attend one class a week and are expected to attend every session and be able to commit for study for the full academic year - September to July.
All classes are small. You will be supported by a highly qualified tutor throughout the course and work towards taking exams at the end of the year.
How to enrol
You must take an assessment before enrolment to determine your level and readiness for our courses.
English courses are suitable for native or fluent speakers of English. If your assessment shows that an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) course will be of more benefit you will be referred to an ESOL class.
Photographic ID is required at all assessments.
Our courses are free if you are 19 years old or over and have lived in an EU country continually for the past three years.
