Election vacancies 

Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames has 56 polling stations on the day of election, which need around 311 staff. 

Presiding Officers and Poll Clerks work inside these stations and are responsible for the conduct of the ballot and make sure the proper procedures for voting are followed. Poll clerks assist the Presiding Officer who oversees the polling station. To become a Presiding Officer must have previous experience as a poll clerk. 

Count staff are employed to work with verification of votes, the count of the votes (both if taking place the same day) Verification usually takes place after the polls close at 10pm, with count taking place after this, but this can take place the next day.

  • Count assistants Friday 3 May 2024 and Saturday 4th of May 2024 - 8:15am - 6:30pm estimated 

The only scheduled election for 2024 is the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections on the 2 May, for interest in elections work.
