Learn how to understand a pattern, find which size to make, which fabrics to use and how much to buy, and begin to discover how to adapt the pattern to fit your unique proportions. First project will be loose fit trousers and the second is a boxy top with facings. You can also learn how to use a sewing machine if you haven’t done so before. This course is useful for complete beginners or anyone who has tried to make a garment and got stuck!

The course is for beginners to making clothes or anyone who has tried to make a garment and got stuck!
- What do I need to bring with me to class?

For the first class, notebook and pen for list of equipment. All equipment and materials will be discussed in week 1. The expectation is that you will purchase a pattern, some dressmaking shears, a small amount of low cost tools and some fabric and thread for week 2. By week 6 you will also need a small amount of interfacing and either some more fabric or an old duvet or sheet to work with. Specifications will be given later in the course

- An early booking discount of 5% is available for all enrolments up to and including the 31st of August. This course is priced at £133.00 for individuals in receipt of a income based state benefit. You will need to be able to provide relevant documentation as evidence. Concessions cannot be used in conjunction with each other.
