COVID - 19 - Latest Guidance:

Kingston Adult Education follows the latest Department of Education guidance as well as RBK policies to help reduce the spread of Covid 19.

To help prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, all learners should, please, follow the steps below:

  • Wear a face covering in the communal areas in all KAE locations
  • Use the hand sanitisers available at entrances and in classes
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Maintain social distancing as much as possible throughout our centres
  • If you are feeling unwell with Covid symptoms or have tested positive please let us know, do not come to our centres and follow the government guidance.  You can still attend classes online.
  • Please continue to follow the guidance issued by the Government to prevent the spread of Covid.

Kingston Adult Education Courses - Enrolling Now!

Kingston Adult Education is delighted that enrolments are being taken now for courses starting from September and right through the academic year.  Our courses take place in libraries and other community venues so there is bound to be a course very close to your home or workplace.  Click on ‘find a course’ to see the extensive range of courses on offer and join us on a course soon.

Skills and Qualifications to Help Find Employment or Develop Your Career.

Kingston Adult Education supports those seeking work with employability courses providing skills to help find employment and to succeed in the workplace.  This year a whole new range of digital courses have been introduced which provide the essential digital skills and knowledge needed for everyday life and for work.  There are a range of English and Maths courses offering Functional Skills qualifications which give confidence and practical skills to get the most out of work and everyday life.  GCSE Maths and English courses enable access to a wide variety of careers and higher education courses.  English as a Second Language courses give knowledge, skills and qualifications to give confidence in reading, writing and speaking English.  We also offer vocational courses  which provide qualifications, knowledge and skills to work in health and social care, childcare and within a school as a teaching assistant.

Wellbeing, Creative Skills  and the Green Economy

Kingston Adult Education has a  wide range of wellbeing courses which are designed especially to  maintain good mental health and help learners successfully overcome difficulties and achieve what they want out of life.  Our community learning team also offer courses to promote health and fitness and wellbeing as well as a range of courses for learners with learning difficulties/disabilities.  Our Specialist Skills and Leisure area offers many courses which promote wellbeing, such as nutrition and cooking, as well as creative skills and contribute to Kingston borough’s creativity and culture hub.  

Promoting the green economy is important and Kingston Adult Education are offering courses to help repurpose or reuse.  During this academic year we will also be working in partnership with IDot, a wildlife aid foundation,  to give all learners the opportunity to get involved in activities to help wildlife and protect the environment.
