Crackdown on unlawful eBay listings posing a risk to public health

Kingston & Sutton Shared Services Trading Standards team have removed hundreds of eBay listings that posed a risk to public health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This week officers identified and liaised with officers from Westminster Trading Standards and eBay to take down over 700 listings. More than 500 were for unlawful sale of the UK Government official "Face Mask Exemption" Badges, with many sellers advertising bulk buy lots with anti-covid messages undermining public health controls. The team continues to monitor both physical retail premises for compliance with the Coronavirus Health Regulations as well as online sales as part of their community protection role.
