Kingston Council launches Energy Saving Hub

A new Energy Saving Hub designed to empower local people with knowledge to improve home energy efficiency, lower energy bills and contribute to a greener borough has been launched by Kingston Council.
The user-friendly Hub is a comprehensive online resource created in collaboration with the local Transition Town Kingston Energy community group. It provides practical information on a variety of topics, from low-cost and simple everyday changes to more significant home improvements.
Residents can explore different sections, including guidance on understanding energy usage, draught-proofing, insulation, heating and hot water system upgrades, renewable technologies, financial support and more.
The webpages also offer practical tips and links to trusted resources, making it easier for Kingston homeowners and renters to take action.
Councillor Ian Manders, Portfolio Holder for Climate Action, Biodiversity and Planning Policy, said:
“Whether you want ways to cut your energy use at home, or are interested in renewable energy tech like heat pumps and solar panels, the Hub has it covered.
“Energy bills have crept up year-on-year, so it’s important that people find out that they can use less energy while keeping their homes warm”.
