Council wants to hear your views on new development for North Kingston
Residents have the opportunity to give their views on the redevelopment of part of North Kingston.
The North Kingston Development Brief gives residents, landowners and developers the chance to have a say on plans for the regeneration of North Kingston including the potential for new mixed use developments, public spaces and open space.
The brief follows on from two consultations that took place in 2012 and 2014, which provide a basis for the preparation of this brief. Changes have been made to the brief including making sections clearer by amending plans, simplifying text and further explaining the context and the drivers for change. Alterations have also ensured that the brief is in line with current planning policy.
Development of the North Kingston area has generated a good debate in the community so far, and this consultation is a chance to create the context for the next phases of this key part of the town.
Councillor David Cunningham, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Regeneration at Kingston Council, said:
“It is important that we engage fully with the community and stakeholders. We can all shape the future plans of the North Kingston regeneration. I would like as many people as possible to get involved and have their say.”
The consultation will run over the next eight weeks until 5 September 2016.
