Celebrating the Bard: Shakespeare Week is coming to Kingston
Kingston children and adults are set to enjoy a range of activities from puppetry and storytelling to play reading and talks.
Our seven Kingston libraries will come together to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 March.
As well as a huge variety of activities for children and adults, there’s a borough wide quiz for adults, which will see one lucky winner receive the complete works of Shakespeare.
Councillor Andrea Craig, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Libraries at Kingston Council, said:
“We are delighted to be able to give locals the opportunity to explore and enjoy activities in celebration of Shakespeare at their local library. With events during the week and over the weekend, you will be able to try on Shakespearean costumes from the National Theatre or get your little ones to create their own pop-up theatre boxes. It's a wonderful way to get involved and learn more about the world’s greatest playwright.”
