Kingston Council seeks views to help shape sustainable parking services

Communities are being asked for their thoughts on their travel and parking needs both now and in the future, to help inform Kingston’s future service priorities.

The council is set to recommission its parking services, with the new contract due to be in place in 2024.

Cllr Noel Hadjimichael, Portfolio Holder for Assets, Leisure and Commissioning at Kingston Council, said:

“We want to hear your thoughts on a range of topics, from how you think you’ll travel in and around our borough in the future, to car park usage, parking pricing, permits and much more.

“A lot has happened in the past few years, Covid has changed the way we live our lives, and, for a lot of us, how frequently we travel. As part of our wider strategy to encourage use of sustainable transport, we need to consider how we manage our parking services and how best to balance this whilst supporting a growing, ageing population, encouraging access to local shops and services and protecting the environment.

“Please take some time to share your thoughts and let’s make Kingston better together.”

Feedback from this engagement will help shape the future of parking management and enforcement services from 2024 to 2034.
