Welcome to your brand new Council website for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
Find music groups for students up to age 18 for every style, instrument and grade, including string orchestras, jazz bands, choirs and music theory classes.
Our percussion groups students the opportunity to make music with like-minded young people. They meet weekly at venues around the borough of Kingston and are led by expert tutors. For Percussion Jam and UpBeat, there is no experience needed - just a love of music - as group members can learn everything from scratch. All instruments are supplied.
ReMix ix the new name for Kingston Youth Percussion Ensemble. They compose their own music and perform on percussion instruments as well as their own orchestral instruments.
Mallet Motion play tuned percussion ensemble music from all sorts of genres. Instrument used include xylophones, glockenspiel, drum kit and more.
UpBeat learn to play various percussion instruments, performing arrangements of well known songs and composing their own pieces.
Percussion Jam have fun learning to play various percussion instruments, performing arrangements of well known songs and composing their own pieces.
Group lessons:
Our STARter Groups for beginners are a great way to lean the Violin, Trumpet, Clarinet, Cello or Recorder - they take place at our Tolworth Centre. Our ensemble rehearsals and theory lessons also take place in centres.
