Bands, orchestras and theory groups
Find music groups for students up to age 18 for every style, instrument and grade, including string orchestras, jazz bands, choirs and music theory classes.
Jazz bands
Kingston Youth Jazz Band
- level: suitable for grade 2 up to grade 5 experienced players
- instruments: for wind, brass, percussion, guitar, bass guitar and piano
- time: Thursdays from 6:05 to 7:05pm
- location: Tolworth Music Centre
Come play some smooth jazz, swing, blues, funk and also learn to improvise.
KYJB often join forces with KYBB to generate a large Jazz Ensemble.
Kingston Youth Big Band
- level: suitable for grade 6 up to grade 8+ experienced players
- instruments: for wind, brass and percussion instruments
- time: Thursdays from 6:05 to 7:05pm
- location: Tolworth Music Centre
The Kingston Youth Big Band (KYBB) is a small ensemble of advanced wind, brass, percussion and guitar players. The group play a variety of jazz standards and contemporary pieces and each player is encouraged to improvise solos throughout.

To apply for a place in one of our groups, please complete our online application form. Once we have received your application we will contact you with further information, including the offer of a free trial and how you can pay.
If you are interested in seeing any of our groups perform. We post all our concerts on our events page. Everyone is welcome!
