Green Community
Vegecoopia CIC
Based in Kingston and New Malden, a vibrant community group named Vegecoopia has been working to cultivate a greener, more connected future for the past two years.
With a dedicated team of ten members, Vegecoopia is focused on building community bonds and resilience through the power of food growing.
They undertake a wide range of activities which are open to all!
At the core of their work is the emphasis on growing and sharing food locally, minimising food miles and fostering a sense of shared responsibility for making good food choices.
They also champion the art and science of food growing, recognising its power to educate, empower, and connect people with nature. Through practical workshops and shared spaces, they encourage people to get their hands dirty and learn the joys of growing their own food.
They also run "The Honey Pot", which is a community shop and space that serves as a hub for locally grown and sourced produce, providing accessible and affordable food while supporting the group's mission.
-
Food is a universal language, and Vegecoopia runs cooking workshops to celebrate different culinary traditions creating community spirit, allowing people to learn new skills and connect over the food grown and made.
-
They also run nature based arts and crafts workshops, helping connect people with the natural world in a creative and engaging way.
