What's happening and when

The Surbiton to Kingston scheme is partially complete.

Works on Avenue Elmers and Palace Road were completed in February 2017 and a new one-way cycle lane on St Mark's Hill was opened in April 2017.

New signage was installed at the end of September 2017 for the permanent traffic restriction on Surbiton Crescent and permanent traffic islands installed in December 2017. Traffic cameras remain in place but the Council has switched to intermittent enforcement and will continue to monitor traffic flows in the area.

The next phase of works are due to commence in January and will last for approximately 12 weeks. The work includes:

●       New controlled crossings at the Maple Road/Claremont Road Junction
●       Installation of a new cycle lane on Claremont Road between Maple Road and The Crescent.

The works may require parking suspensions on the road as the work progresses. Please observe and adhere to any no-parking cones in place.

All efforts will be made to ensure that noisy operations are kept to a minimum. However, some noise, smoke and dust is inevitable with this type of work.
