Reimagining Kingston Libraries is an exciting opportunity for us to work with the community to talk about ideas to shape your library service of the future. From September we will be organising various engagement activities, including workshops working with community partners, digital events and an ideas board.
The transformational review aims to place libraries at the heart of the community and bring council services closer to residents, ensuring they meet the needs of communities both now and in the future.
Imagine….A space which is free...A space which is physical and digital..A space where your questions will be answered, where you will be supported, where no-one judges...A space for skills, talents and opportunities to be discovered, grown and exchanged...A space where you can meet friends and connect, have a chat, find support to seek your next job, course or get advice...A space where you can access computers to speak with family, shop or write your CV, discover books and a love of reading, study, gain knowledge, be creative or build a business...A space where you can make new friends across generations and cultures...A space for performance, to play a game or find peace...A space where you can be curious, participate, be inspired, get excited, find answers and ask questions...A space there for you and your community.
This is your library for the future.
The first phase of the transformation process will start on 1 September. Share your ideas on what the library means to you and what the library could offer through Kingston’s Let’s Talk Portal. If you can’t access the ideas board online you can call 020 8547 6451 on Wednesdays 10-4 to share your ideas.
