Kingston Interpreting Service

Find out how Kingston Interpreting Service (KIS) can provide language support services to help you communicate more effectively with customers whose don't speak English as a first language.

Registering as an interpreter

An interpreter plays an important role bridging the communication gap between service provider and client.

To be an interpreter with us you'll need to:

  • be fluent in and have a good understanding of the English language
  • be fluent in at least one other language and be able to interpret correctly
  • hold a minimum of level 3 in Community Interpreting
  • attend annual safeguarding training
  • hold an enhanced DBS certificate
  • be professional, sensitive and culturally aware
  • be organised, punctual and reliable

We are looking to increase the number of interpreters we work with. If you are already a self-employed professional interpreter, you can apply using this form.

Please note that your registration will be dependent on qualifications and demand for your languages.
