Working on the Annual Household Canvass 2025

Electoral Services are currently planning a door-knocking stage of the 2025 annual canvass.

Canvassers are employed throughout the borough to call on residents who have not returned their annual household canvass form.

This year’s approach will be as follows:

  • Each canvasser will be allocated their own canvass area.
  • Each property in their area must receive a personal visit.

During their visit:

  • If someone is home, they will speak with the resident and encourage them to complete the form
  • If no one is home, they will seal the form in the envelope provided and post it through the letterbox

Key Information:

Flexible hours: Most visits are expected to take place during evenings and weekends, when residents are more likely to be at home. The role can be completed in your spare time and fits around other commitments or full-time work.

Payment will be based on each form that is either delivered or fully completed and returned.

Training & Equipment: In-person training will be provided from 1 October, during which you will also collect your forms and equipment.

Canvass Period: Visits must be completed between 6 October and 7 November.
