To maintain good practice, Kingston Council invites the Local Government Association (LGA) to carry out Corporate Peer Challenge every few years.
This involves inviting a team of independent local government peers to assess the council and identify what we are doing well and the areas we can work on in the future.
The LGA coordinated team visited RBK for a week in June 2025 and through a series of discussions, research and focus groups with staff, members and wider community stakeholders assessed the council’s performance. Their report highlights both the strengths of Kingston Council and areas for improvement.
They have now published their findings, and you can read the report in full.
The report was accepted at our Corporate and Resources Committee on 30 September 2025 along with the council’s action plan.
