Our schools and nurseries

Elective Home Education

Education is compulsory, attending school is not. Although the majority of parents choose to send their children to school, a number of parents choose to educate their children at home. This is called Elective Home Education. There is more guidance about this on the Achieving for Children website

A free place at school

All children in England between the ages of 4 and 16 are entitled to a free place at a state school. Our schools are an important part of our local communities and have earned a reputation for offering high quality education.

Free early education

Children are also entitled to free early education from the age of 3 and some may be entitled to free childcare and early education from the age of 2. Visit the Achieving for Children website for more information and guidance on early education.
