Music exams

KMS do not coordinate music exams centrally, however it is very easy for parents to book music exams, whether instrumental, vocal or theory. Please speak to your music tutor for advice before booking any exams to make sure the student is ready to take the exam. You will find some links to current offers from the main exam boards, most of whom offer exams in person as well as digitally:

KMS can put you in touch with a piano accompanist if you need one for your exam but this will incur a charge. Contact musicservice@kingston.gov.uk for more information. 

Music Therapy

Taking part in music therapy helps support positive change and enables people to reach their full potential. It builds confidence and encourages physical, emotional, mental and social well being. 

We work in partnership with Richmond Music Trust who run music therapy from their centre in Twickenham. Richmond’s Music Therapy Service deliver therapy sessions on a small group or one to one basis. KMS would be happy to look into employing their own Music Therapist if schools are interested in using this service. Please contact Kingston Music Service if you are interested.
