TCS Mini London Marathon

TCS Mini London Marathon is the official British Athletics 2.6k road championship taking place over part of the full London marathon course in advance of the main race.

Every year, 36 young runners aged between 11-17  are selected to represent Kingston in the Championship Mini London Marathon, the team will be selected based on performances in parkrun event.

All runners receive a Mini Marathon T Shirt which must be worn by all taking part in the race. Transport is provided from Kingston to London on the morning of the race (not return).

Runners need to be aged between 11 and 17 years old and either live, were born or go to school in Kingston upon Thames.

Eligibility for each age category in the 2023 event is based on the participant’s age on Wednesday 31 August 2022, as follows:

Under-17 (Years 11 and 12): must have been aged 15 or 16 on Wednesday 31 August 2022
Under-15 (Years 9 and 10): must have been aged 13 or 14 on Wednesday 31 August 2022
Under-13 (Years 7 and 8): must have been aged 11 on Wednesday 31 August 2022* 
*Please note, the Under-13 age requirements are different to in previous years. UK Athletics have amended this rule to ensure that Year 6 pupils are not competing against pupils in Years 7 and 8.

When registering you will need to input your best time from a completed UK 5K parkrun for U15 & U17 age groups or a Junior parkrun for those U13 runners.

You can enter a time from any UK Parkrun or UK Junior Parkrun, events usually take place every Saturday at 9am, or Sundays 9am for Junior Park run. Please complete any parkrun event between 24 December 2022 and 2 April 2023 and include your best time in the registration form. For more information, see Parkrun

After you've completed a parkrun, complete the Kingston Mini Marathon online application form before 2 April 2023 with details of your time and run completed. Late entries will not be accepted.

The Sports Development Team will select the six fastest male and six female athletes in each category to represent Kingston and will contact qualifying athletes by e-mail during the week following the entry deadline. 

(In the event of a tie for a place the applicant with the 2nd fastest time within the qualification period will be chosen, should this not resolve the tie then the athlete with the quickest PB at Parkrun will be selected.)
