Illegally parked vehicles

How to report illegal parking

Requesting enforcement against vehicles blocking a driveway

The council and its parking enforcement provider APCOA offer a service for residents and businesses who find their driveway is obstructed by a vehicle.

To report this offence, you can call the council's parking enforcement on 07974 296852, between:

  • 7am to 10pm (Monday to Saturday)
  • 10:30am to 10pm (Sundays and bank holidays)

When calling, you will be required to provide the following:

  • Your Name/Company name
  • Your Address
  • Your Telephone number
  • Details of the vehicle obstructing your driveway

This is required so we can verify that it is the owner of the house that is requesting enforcement action.

Once this information has been received, we will arrange for a Civil Enforcement Officer to visit the location and carry out appropriate enforcement. Depending upon location and resource, we would hope to respond within 15 minutes.

We do not remove vehicles that have parked adjacent to a driveway and the Civil Enforcement Officer attending will only be able to issue a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

Reporting other illegally parked vehicles including footway parking & vehicles parked on mandatory cycle lanes

To report a vehicle contravening any other type of restriction such as vehicles contravening the footway parking ban, yellow lines, disabled bays or vehicles parked on mandatory cycle lanes you can either use the form provided in the link below

Operational hours and response times are subject to resources. Our parking contractor regularly patrols the borough by beats and cannot always react instantly.

Feedback from reports will be analysed for the deployment of Civil Enforcement Officers and for enforcement purposes where possible. We thank you for your feedback which helps to improve our services.
