Nominate Kingston’s local heroes for the Mayor’s Community Awards

Nominations are open for this year’s Mayor’s Community Awards, which recognise people who have given up their own time to help others within the Kingston community.

Nominees could be someone who deserves recognition for their supreme effort, strength, bravery or dedication, or who has achieved something that benefits their neighbourhood or the borough as a whole.

The Mayor will also present an award to a young person under the age of 21 who sets an example to their peers through voluntary work. This excludes community work undertaken as part of Duke of Edinburgh or similar.

Councillor Margaret Thompson, Mayor of Kingston, said:

"There are some truly selfless people in our borough and this is the chance for you to nominate those who you feel deserve recognition.

"Those who devote time and effort to benefit others are deserving of the highest praise and we want to thank them for their wonderful work.

"If you know someone who should be honoured in this year's Mayor's Community Awards, please nominate them now."

To nominate someone for the Mayor’s Award, visit the Mayor's Community Awards page and use the link to complete an online form. The deadline for nominations is 10am on Thursday 30 January 2020.
