Our parks are some of the best in London
We all love our parks - and we’re rightly proud of them - and now all the work that you do to keep them looking beautiful has been recognised.
‘The Good Parks for London 2019’ report shows Kingston’s parks as the most improved in London.
There are scores of volunteers across the borough helping us pick up litter, clear ponds and maintain our parks - so a big thank you to you for all you do.
The report looks at all of the great work taking place in green spaces across London, scoring each borough against ten criteria, including public satisfaction, events and community involvement.
And we want to make them even better - we are investing £1.3 million in parks in the borough through our ambitious Community Parks programme.
So far we have put in new gym equipment and entrance gates at Fairfield Recreation ground, transformed the playground at King George’s Recreation and unveiled two brand new play areas at Victoria Recreation and Beverley Park.
We recently consulted residents on our plans for the playgrounds at Churchfields Recreation Ground, King Edwards Recreation Ground and Knollmead Park. We received some fantastic input and are now in the process of finalising these plans. For the latest updates visit: www.kingston.gov.uk/communityparksprogramme.
Last month, we invited local people to share their thoughts on how we look after our green spaces across the borough. For the latest updates visit www.kingstonletstalk.co.uk/greenspaces.
