Kingston Music Service to launch a new music centre for adults in Chessington

Kingston Music Service is launching a new music centre for adults opening in September 2019. Group lessons in guitar and keyboard will be available, providing an affordable way to learn an instrument.

Lessons will be available for all abilities from beginners through to advanced level, with an opportunity for individuals to work towards an accreditation if they choose to.

Adults can also join the newly formed Kingston Wind Orchestra, an informal group of woodwind, brass and percussion players which meets four times a term and is aimed at beginners, as well as those who have played previously and want to pick it up again.

For anyone interested in improvisation then the ‘Blues route to Jazz’ sessions could be of interest. These cover essential scales and chords and explore a range of tunes. Newcomers to blues and jazz are welcome, as well as musicians who would like to learn more about improvisation.

All sessions will be taking place at The Hook Centre in Chessington, from September 2019.  To find out more about the courses or to apply, please visit www.kingston.gov.uk/music or email [email protected].
