Statement from Leader of Kingston Council on the New Zealand terror attacks

I am deeply saddened to hear about the events in New Zealand today and my thoughts are with the friends and families of those affected.

Kingston is a diverse and multicultural borough. We have strong links with the Muslim community and other faith networks and are working with the Kingston Interfaith Forum to reassure and support those affected.

The Metropolitan Police will be stepping up patrols around mosques and increasing engagement with communities of all faiths, providing support and reassurance.

You can report any concerns or suspicious activity to the police anti-terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.
