Nominate your local superstars for a Mayor’s Community Award
Nominations are now open for local heroes who deserve special recognition at the Mayor’s Community Awards in March.
The Mayor is looking for people who have given up their own time to help other people or the community. They may deserve recognition for their supreme effort, strength, bravery or achievement.
There is also a special ‘young person’ community award for someone under the age of 21 who has set an example for their peers.
Councillor Thay Thayalan, Mayor of Kingston said:
"The Mayor's Community Awards are an opportunity to recognise and honour those who are making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. Having received a community award myself in 1990, I know the importance of thanking those who have devoted time and effort to benefit others.
Do you know any amazing people in your community that could use some recognition and appreciation? Please nominate them.”
For more information, or to nominate someone, visit the Mayor’s Community Award webpage at www.kingston.gov.uk/mayorsawards. The deadline for nominations is 10am on Friday 8 February 2019.
The awards ceremony will take place on Monday 18 March 2019 from 12noon to 2pm in the Council Chamber, Guildhall.
