Kingston Adult Education Awards celebrate students’ achievements

Students in Kingston were celebrated for their successes , at the annual Adult Achievers Awards held at the Guildhall on 25 May.

This year, 13 learners were nominated for accomplishments in their studies, despite facing learning difficulties or disabilities. 

Kingston’s Mayor, Councillor Thay Thayalan, attended the ceremony at which all the students were presented with their certificates in front of their teachers, families and friends.  

Mayor Thayalan said:

“It is inspiring to hear the stories of what these learners have been through to achieve their dreams. They have all shown an immense determination to learn, despite facing difficulties.” 

“I would like to thank the Rotary Club for hosting the awards and all those involved in organising the event, including staff at Kingston Adult Education.”

Sam Burgess, Head of Service at Kingston Adult Education, said:

"These awards show what can be achieved by pure determination, strong teaching and the will to succeed. 

“Congratulations to all who received an award and to all who are currently on their journeys."
