Measles outbreaks confirmed in five areas across UK

As of 19 December, there have been 34 confirmed cases of measles across the UK. 11 of these are in Surrey.

Although we have no cases in Kingston at present because of our close proximity to Surrey, we'd like to remind you that MMR vaccinations are available free of charge on the NHS to all adults and children who are not up to date with their two doses. Anyone who is not sure if they are fully vaccinated should check with their GP practice.

Measles is a highly infectious viral illness that can be very unpleasant and can sometimes lead to serious complications.
Anyone planning to travel to Europe over the Christmas period should check NaTHNaC travel health advice.
