Kingston welcomes first baby to be registered in 2017
Welcome to the world Louis Dimidius Alexander-Ridpath, the first baby to be registered at Kingston Registry Office in 2017.
Proud parents Rachel Sarah Alexander and Simon James Ridpath from Surbiton came along to register Louis this morning (3 January) at 9am.
Louis was born on 7 December at Kingston Hospital, weighing 3.5lbs.
On registering Louis at Kingston Register Office, Rachel Sarah Alexander, said:
"It's been a difficult pregnancy, so today feels really emotional. Happy emotional. To have Louis here, and being so well, is lovely. The process to register Louis was explained really well and it was nice and quick. Louis was blissfully unaware throughout!"
On carrying out the registration, Anne Bentley, Registrar, said:
"It's lovely to share such a special moment with parents, it's such a memorable part of those first few weeks. I'm so lucky - I find my job extremely rewarding and this is a great way to start the new year."
Last year, we recorded the births of around 6,000 babies from Kingston Hospital.
