The Streets are set for a vocal extravaganza

Get ready for a bigger, better and bolder set of show stopping live performances.

The Streets, hosted as part of this years’ International Youth Arts Festival, will see Kingston alive with the sound of music on the Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July 2016.

A host of internationally renowned musicians will be blazing a trail through locations that include the Market Square, Riverside Walk and Clarence Street. They will be joined by the best of our local talent making for fantastic programme of live music. It’s all part of The Streets – a two year programme developed by seven London boroughs and funded by Arts Council England to support local businesses by celebrating and encouraging visitors to explore London’s diverse high streets through dynamic, musical encounters.

Developed in collaboration with acclaimed live music producer, Serious and supported by Kingstonfirst and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, the summer programme promises pop up performances, open access singing sessions and family focused activities all for free!

Councillor Andrea Craig, Cabinet Member with the responsibility for Heritage, Art and Leisure at Kingston Council said:
"It’s fantastic to see our High Streets being used in such an exciting and engaging way. The Streets are hosting a huge variety of vocal performances this summer – and they are all free which is brilliant for visitors and residents of the borough alike! It looks set to be a great way to spend time with family and friends whilst enjoying a brilliant selection of live music."
