Have your say on plans for the future of Cocks Crescent in New Malden

High-quality new and affordable homes, a leisure centre and improved green spaces are all part of a newly-launched consultation on the vision for Cocks Crescent, New Malden.

The Draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) also includes the expansion of the public realm and improvements to Blagdon Road Open Space. Kingston residents and businesses now have the opportunity to view the plans and express their views on the draft brief between Friday 1 July and Monday 29 August 2016.

Councillor David Cunningham, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Regeneration at Kingston Council, said:

“This vision for the future of Cocks Crescent, designed with the help of local residents, businesses and community groups, is a reflection of the contributions we have so far received from interested parties. Please take this opportunity to share your views on the future of New Malden.”

This public consultation is the third time residents and businesses have been asked to take part and help develop a new look and feel for Cocks Crescent, following earlier engagement periods in summer 2015 and autumn/winter 2015.

To ensure people can review the document and express their views, the SPD will be accessible in the following ways:

  • printed copies of the draft document are available to view at council offices and at libraries across the borough;
  • the document can also be viewed online, where you can share your views using an online survey;
  • officers from Kingston Council will be attending various events in New Malden and across the borough to answer questions and receive feedback.

The deadline for consultation responses is Monday 29 August 2016.

Results from the public consultation will be used to help finalise the document for adoption at a Growth Committee towards the end 2016. Once adopted, the Cocks Crescent SPD will be used as a framework for delivery.
