World of Work road show event set to inspire young people from Kingston and Richmond

Young people from across Kingston and Richmond's schools and colleges are invited to attend an exciting careers fair on 9 March.

This is the second year this popular event has been held and has been organised again by Achieving for Children. It is free and is open to young people aged 15 to 24; parents can come too.

A variety of companies, organisations, local colleges, universities and training providers will be there to provide advice on the world of work, its many opportunities and the various routes into it.

Up to 1,000 local students are expected to attend the event which will have around seventy five exhibitors including BT, Haymarket Media, GSK, Crossrail, Heathrow, NPL and Chessington World of Adventures.

Attendees will have the opportunity to try out their skills, watch interactive demonstrations, get information and impartial careers guidance and even take part in some speed networking. The first hour between 11am and 12 noon will be targeted at young people with special educational needs or disabilities.

This year's road show takes place on Wednesday 9 March at the Harlequins Twickenham Stoop Stadium in Langhorn Drive between 11am and 3pm. If anyone is interested in coming along or would like more information they should contact Amanda Dowden on [email protected]achievingforchildren.org.uk.
