Contacting Kingston Council now cheaper than ever
In a move to reduce the cost of contacting Kingston Council, all telephone numbers are now chargeable at mobile-friendly, local call rates.
Following the introduction of an 0345 number for the telephone payments system on 1 July, all Kingston Council phone lines are mobile-friendly. This means that 0345 calls using mobiles are inclusive within any ‘free minutes’, or are charged at the same price as calling a landline.
Councillor Andy Johnson, Cabinet Member responsible for Resident Participation at Kingston Council said:
“Over half of residents who took part in the ‘All in One’ borough survey were satisfied with the way the Council runs things, which is good, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
“We want to work more closely with our residents. An essential part of this is ensuring that there are ways for our residents to contact us, at a fair price. It’s great that we can now offer cheaper telephone rates and my hope is that this move further improves our relationship with our community.
“There are a number of ways people can get in touch with the Council - the website, over the phone, in writing, via social media and of course, coming in to see us at the Information and Advice Centre.”
