Share your thoughts on four exciting playground revamp designs

Trampolines, zip wires and sandpits are just some of the activities in draft plans for revamps of playgrounds in Manor Park, Cromwell Avenue Open Space, Woodview and Kingston Road Recreation Ground.

Residents are invited to share their thoughts on the designs for the play areas in Chessington, Kingston and New Malden, which are set to be transformed in early 2022.

As part of the council’s ongoing commitment to creating a cleaner, greener borough and helping keep communities healthy, we are investing £1.3 million in the borough’s green spaces.

Cllr Stephanie Archer, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainable Transport at Kingston Council said:

“We know our parks hold a special place in the hearts of our residents - more so than ever. They have been a haven to many and played a vital role in keeping us going, both physically and mentally throughout the pandemic.

“We are committed to providing safe, accessible and enjoyable spaces for all of our communities and are looking forward to getting started on our next phase of hugely exciting works.

“Take a look over the draft designs, tell us what you think via our portal, or by joining one of our virtual drop ins, and let’s make Kingston better together.”

Over the last three years, ten parks in the borough have benefited from a range of improvements including playground makeovers, new footpaths and outdoor gym equipment.
