Kingston upon Thames Probus Club presents cheque to Mayor’s Charitable Trust

The Mayor’s Charitable Trust received a donation from the Kingston upon Thames’ Probus Club last week.

At one of Probus’s monthly lunches the Mayor of the Royal Borough, Cllr Ken Smith JP, was delighted to be presented with a cheque for fifty pounds from Mr Chris Shires, who is a member of the Probus Club. The cheque was for the Mayor’s Charitable Trust, which this year, is supporting four local organisations that work with young people.

The local organisations benefiting will be: The Royal Kingston Scout District, Girlguiding (Kingston and Malden and Surbiton Divisions), Kingston and District Sea Cadets and The Horse Rangers Association (HRA are working with the Kingston Young Carers’ Project and want to expand the programme of work they do with local Young Carers).

The Mayor, Councillor Ken Smith said:

“I’m delighted to accept this generous donation on behalf of the Mayor’s Charitable Trust.

It is exactly this kind of generosity and thoughtfulness that makes Kingston a wonderful place to live.”
