Individual & Small Group Music lessons at your school

Our friendly, professional tutors offer lessons in a wide-range of instruments, including brass (trumpet, cornet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba), strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass), woodwind (flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone), percussion (drum kit, world percussion, orchestral percussion), piano, electric keyboard, recorder, guitar, ukulele and voice. All of our tutors have Enhanced DBS certificates and up-to-date Level 2 Child Safeguarding training.

Paid for by families

Lessons can be taught individually or in small groups and take place during school hours or by special arangement after school.

KMS deal with parents directly and can take care of timetabling if nedded. KMS will work in colaberation with schools to market new provision. Schools are expected to provide a suitable teaching space on a regular basis - we are happy to liaise with you regarding what type of space would be suitable depending on the instrument being taught.

If your school is interested in hosting a KMS tutor, please get in touch with us at musicservice@kingston.gov.uk

Paid for by schools (Direct to schools)

Many schools understand the power of music to enhance pupils' education and request short or long term provision, for example pupil premium, CLA, SEND students. KMS welcomes the opportunity to provide tuition by invoicing schools directly. This could comprise of one to one, small group, large group, ensemble, club or even a mixed model funding arrangement.

If your school is interested in setting up a new provision, please get in touch with us at musicservice@kingston.gov.uk

Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (WCET)

In line with the DfE's National Plan for Music Education, KMS offer opportunities for whole classes to learn a musical instrument together. We supply the tutor and the instruments. Subsidised lessons for pupils who want to continue learning are then avaliable.

WCET is suitable for years 3, 4, 5 and 6. We provide a trained tutor and a class set of instruments for your pupils to learn with. Currently we run trumpet, djembe, percussion, violin, ukulele, keyboard and clarinet projects. We will help you select a project that suits the needs of your pupils.

You will need to provide a space to store the instruments, a space for the teaching to take place (a classroom, a school hall or a music room), a member of staff to support the sessions and the opportunity for the children to perform at the end of the project.

The projects run for 10-weeks per term for a full year. If any of your pupils would like to continue learning the instrument after your project ends we offer a discounted rate for the year following the project.
