Lucy Joy Morris grew up in Berkshire where she was a scholar of Berkshire Maestros, a violin student at the Junior Royal College of Music and a member of the National Children's and Youth Chamber Orchestras. She went on to study music at Queens' College, Cambridge where she won the Beaument Prize for Outstanding Musical Performance in her final year. At university Lucy studied conducting as a senior scholar on the Queens' Conducting Programme, and placed second in the Cambridge University Conducting Competition. She was the conductor of the Cambridge University Wind and Concert Orchestras, conducted shows with the University Opera and G&S societies, and sang and toured with the world-renowned Trinity College Choir.
Lucy now works as a freelance choral and orchestral conductor alongside some violin teaching with KMS. Lucy conducts the Reading A440 Choir and is a passionate music educator, conducting the Taplow Children's and Boys' Choirs, the Farnham Training Choir and the Kingston Youth and Training Orchestras. She is also Director of Music at Dartford Parish Church where she directs the choir of professional choral scholars. Lucy is a sectional coach for the National Youth Choir of Scotland and most recently was appointed as the conductor of the National Boys' Choir of Great Britain.
