Money to take a break of your choice
If you’re not earning much and your assessment says you need a break, you may be able to get up to £200 a year to spend in a way that suits you.
You could do things like:
- take up a new hobby
- go on a course
- have a meal out
- go on a day trip
- use it towards a gym membership

Active Kingston discount card
If you live in the borough and get Carer's Allowance, you can apply for this leisure card to give you discounts on a wide range of activities at seven leisure centres.
The card costs just £2 – we just need to see proof of your Allowance and two passport sized photos. If you’re under 60 it’s valid for one year, and ten years for over 60s.
You get can an application form from local leisure centres and libraries.
Free cinema card
If the person you care for gets Attendance Allowance or Disability Living Allowance, you can go to the cinema with them for free.
The card, issued by the Cinema Exhibitors’ Association (CEA), costs £6 and is valid for one year in many cinemas including Odeon, Cineworld, Curzon and Vue.
