Events held on the River Thames and Hogsmill River need the approval of the Environment Agency. You will also need to consult with the Thames River Users Group 8 (responsible for navigation along the Kingston section of the River Thames) and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in Teddington.
The Safety Advisory Group (SAG) may request confirmation of permission from the Environment Agency for your event to take place on the river, when considering applications to use the adjoining land as part of the event. Applications to use the river can be accessed from the Environment Agency website where you can find support and guidance .
Once approved, please submit your initial enquiry form to us to host an event. We will get in touch with you to see the confirmation of permission you have got from the above agencies.
Specific information on river events and guidance including timescales will be sent to you, once you have submitted your initial enquity form. You can also download our event planning checklist for waterways to assist you during your event organising.
