Community Development in Locality Areas

Developing Community Development in Locality Areas is one way of understanding the health needs of a local population including needs relating to the wider determinants of health, such as housing, crime, employment and education.
People living and working in the area form a partnership to identify community needs, set priorities and develop an action plan. The overall aim of the participatory needs assessment is to understand the health needs of the community from their own perspective.

Community wellbeing forums have been formed as a means of taking forward the findings from the participatory needs assessments and strengthening ongoing partnership work, which will bring residents, professionals and other stakeholders together to improve the quality of life for residents.

We are currently working in Chessington, Alpha Road estate and Old Malden – contact the Community Development Team if you would like to find out more.
