Kingston Adult Education Courses - Enrolling Now

Kingston Adult Education is delighted to launch its wide range of courses for the academic year 2023-24. Enrolments are being taken now!  

We are looking forward to both welcoming learners back to classes and introducing new learners to our courses.   Gain a qualification, develop a new skill, find a new interest, and meet new people. Learn online from home or within a community venue near where you live or work.

Our courses start at different times throughout the year from September right through to July 2024.  We have courses during the day and evening to fit in with our busy lives.  Course lengths vary from one-day workshops or weekly short courses to longer courses taking place over a whole academic year.

Early Booking Discount

A 5% discount is available for course fees on our Community Learning, Specialist Skills and Leisure courses for all enrolments up to and including 31st August 2023.

Many of our courses are free or subsidised by the government (depending on personal circumstances and funding regulations).

Helping you with Skills and Qualifications to find Employment or Develop your Career

Our English and Maths courses support you with practical skills to get the most out of work and everyday life.  You can gain functional skills qualifications or join GCSE courses to access a wide variety of careers and higher education courses.   This year we are expanding our maths provision to include short courses to help improve basic numeracy skills, give you the confidence to help your child with maths, provide skills to cope with the cost of living; help with budgeting, understanding credit cards, interest rates and bills.  

Our English as a Second Language course give knowledge, skills and qualifications to ensure confidence in reading, writing and speaking English.  We also offer maths classes for ESOL learners and employability skills to help those with English as a second language to find work.

Kingston Adult Education’s vocational courses gives qualifications, knowledge and skills to work in book-keeping, childcare or within a school as a teaching assistant. For those interested in special educational needs we offer a Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Special Educational Needs or Dyslexia Awareness Level 2. If counselling interests you, there is a Level 2 Counselling Certificate to help you forge a career within this area.

Wellbeing and Creative Skills 

Kingston Adult Education has a  wide range of wellbeing courses which are designed especially to  maintain good mental health and help learners successfully overcome difficulties and achieve what they want out of life.  Our community learning team also offer courses to promote health and fitness and wellbeing as well as a range of courses for learners with learning difficulties/disabilities.  Our Specialist Skills and Leisure area offers many courses which promote wellbeing, such as art, craft, modern foreign languages as well as creative writing and contribute to Kingston borough’s creativity and culture hub.  

The Green Economy

Promoting the green economy is important and Kingston Adult Education are offering new courses to help repurpose or reuse.   There is also the opportunity to gain qualifications in the green sector such as a Level 1 Award in Environmental Sustainability or a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Climate Change and Environmental Awareness.
