June 2018: Be Clear on Cancer
Be Clear on Cancer
June is Kingston Carer's Month! As part of our wider work to get Kingston's vulnerable residents participating in vital cancer screening, we’ve doubled up our efforts to do some joined up working.
Cancer Research UK will be delivering a Cancer Awareness workshop on June 5th and we're looking for care workers and carers who work in the borough to attend this full day workshop, free of charge! In turn, we're hoping carers will be able to, confidently, engage with their clients about cancer related health matters! If you or someone you know are interested in taking part in the workshop, get in touch with Antoine, who’ll be able to explain about the day in further detail. Be quick though, as spaces are limited!
Be Clear on Cancer campaigns aim to improve early diagnosis of cancer by raising public awareness of signs and/or symptoms of cancer, and to encourage people to see their GP without delay. The programme is led by Public Health England, working in partnership with the Department of Health, NHS England and Cancer Research UK. Each campaign is tested locally and then regionally, with a view to rolling them out nationally if they prove to be effective.
