Household Reuse and Recycling Centre and other recycling sites

Other reuse and recycling sites

Reuse Sites

There are a number of different locations across the borough where you can donate your reusable unwanted goods, which might be closer and easier for you to get to than our Household Reuse and Recycle Centre. The Charity Retail Association website allows you to search for your nearest charity to donate a number of items. We in particular encourage you to take the following items below to charities for reuse:

  • Mattresses and bedding i.e. pillows and cushions, duvets, covers, pillow cases, linen and sheets, blankets
  • Sleeping bags
  • Carpets, rugs and mats
  • Curtains
  • Heavy clothing - workwear, specialist clothing, dressing gowns
  • Table cloths
  • Tea towels and towels
  • Soft toys
  • Beanbags

Recycling Sites

In addition to our main recycling centre, there are three recycling sites located across the borough where you can take a range of items for recycling, which are listed below. Leaving any items not specified below at these sites is classed as fly-tipping and can lead to prosecution and substantial fines. None of the recycling sites have facilities for recycling rigid plastics (e.g. plastic toys) or disposing of non-recyclable rubbish.

You can also make use of the Recycle Now website to find out where you can recycle specific items across the borough.
