About Albany Outdoors

Albany Outdoors is an accredited outdoor, adventure and water activity centre by the Thames in Kingston.

Albany Outdoors has a lively atmosphere with activities taking place at the centre and off site locations. Based on the River Thames between Kingston Bridge and Teddington Lock, the centre is well served by road, rail and public transport.

Our activities and courses

We offer courses for adults and children, for all levels and abilities, from school holiday to adult weekend courses.

We can provide a wide range of specially adapted activities and courses for young people and adults with a learning disability or physical disability. Please contact us to discuss your needs and to see how we can support you to take part..

We also provide:

  • weekly youth club

We are licensed by the Adventure Activities and Licensing Service and follow their guidance to ensure that everyone can experience exciting and stimulating activities outdoors without being exposed to avoidable risks.

We are also an accredited member of the following licensing organisations:

  • Academy of Surfing Instructors Accredited Centre (ASI)
  • Adventure Activities Licensing Service (AALS)
  • British Canoeing (BC)
  • Royal Yachting Association (RYA)
  • Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme (DofE)

The centre is licensed under the Adventure Activities Licensing Service as an activity provider and is also a British Canoe Union approved centre and a Royal Yachting Association approved centre.

Activities at Albany Outdoors are provided and managed by Achieving for Children (AfC).
