Who is a Council leaseholder?
Anyone who bought their Council home under the Right to Buy scheme or from a previous owner is a Council leaseholder. We are your landlord. You own your home for a set number of years (leasehold).
As a Council leaseholder, your legal rights and responsibilities are set out in your lease document.
Your lease also sets out our rights and responsibilities. One of our main responsibilities is looking after the structure of your property and block, any communal areas (internal and external).
You pay the daily running costs and cost of repairs through the service charge.
