Solar Together

Do you want to save on your energy bill and generate your own clean electricity?

Having your own solar panels can be a smart investment; not only can you save on your energy bill, but you will be powering your home with clean energy.

Following Kingston’s declaration of a Climate Emergency on 25 June 2019, we are once again working in partnership with the Mayor of London on Solar Together London, with an aim towards making Kingston carbon neutral by 2038. The innovative group-buying scheme brings households together to get high quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels at a highly competitive price. As part of the Mayor’s Energy for Londoners programme, the scheme has already seen more than 600 installations completed across London.

As a Kingston resident you can register your interest in having solar panels installed on your home and the Solar Together scheme will group purchase high quality PV panels at a very competitive price on your behalf and install them.

Register for free on the Solar Together London website before 22 October 2019 to take part.

How does it work?

  1. Registration: you can register for free on the Solar Together website before 22 October without obligation. To register you simply provide details about your roof, such as its size and orientation.

  2. Auction: a supplier auction will be held on 22 October, when approved solar suppliers will bid for the work. The more people that register, the better the deal should be for each household.

  3. Your personalised offer: from 11 November you will be contacted with a personal recommendation, based on the specifications of your roof. This includes your costs and specification of your solar panel installation.

  4. You decide: the decision is then yours as to whether you want to accept your offer. There is no obligation to continue. You will have until 13 December to decide and will be invited to visit an information session.

  5. Installation: if you accept the offer, the winning supplier will contact you to schedule a survey of your roof and set an installation date. All installations are planned to be completed by the end of March 2020.
